The 2019 Annual Meeting of the Academic Committee of MCTL Held

The 2019 academic committee annual meeting of Key Laboratory of Marine Chemistry Theory and Technology, Ministry of Education, was held in Ocean University of China on the morning of October 18th.Chaired by Li Yan, Director of science and technology, the meeting has invited honorablythe following academicians: Dr. Gao Congjie and Dr. Jiang Guibin, vice chairmen of the committee, Dr. Dai Minhan and Dr. Li Yang, members of the committee.Also, some experts in related fields from domestic and foreign research institutes were specially invited to the conference.

Yan ju, vice President of OUC, attended the meeting and delivered a welcoming speech. She pointed outthatthe labhas achieved gratifying development in recent years, with its comprehensive strength, scientific research competitiveness and international influence significantly enhanced. It was hoped that the laboratory can learn from the present experts’ suggestions, so as to promote the laboratory better.

Later, Zhao Meixun, director of the lab, delivered the annual work report of the lab from 2018 to 2019, introducing the progress in terms of scientific research, team building, platform building, cooperation and exchange. Subsequently, representatives of the young teachers in each research focus made representative results report.

After listening to the lab's work report and reviewing relevant materials, the experts of the committeehighly evaluated the lab's achievements in the past two years. The experts also put forward their opinions on introducing and trainingtalents, integrating orientation and key scientific issues, etc., which provided a broader idea and a series of feasible references for the further work of the lab.

During the conference, experts and members of the academic committee visited Center of C-14 Accelerator Mass Spectrometry and the functional laboratory in Marine Science and Technology Building of OUC.

On the afternoon of October 18th, well-known experts from Tongji University, Xiamen University and University of Florida gave wonderful academic reports to us, which were warmly welcomed and widely discussed by the teachers and students on the spot. Not only that, a good platform was also set up for promoting disciplinary academic exchanges and interdisciplinary integration.
