The International Workshop on Organic Carbon Cycling in Marine Environments: Estuarine to Open Ocean Systems was held on Oct.13-16, 2018 in Qingdao.

This Workshop was organized by Prof. Peng Yao and Assoc. Prof. Xiaotong Xiao from OUC, Prof. Thomas Bianchi from University of Florida and Prof. Timothy Eglinton from ETH Zurich. The participants include Prof. Julian Sachs from University of Washington, Prof. Dennis Hansell from University of Mianmi, Prof. Ronnie Glud from University of South Denmark, Prof. Jeomshik Hwang from Soul National University, Prof. Minhan Dai from Xiamen University, Prof. Chuanlun Zhang from University of South Science and Technology, etc.

The workshop focused on land and watershed sources, estuary and marginal sea exchanges,hadal trench and open ocean process and polar region/ Arctic process.The participants had the agreement on the future cooperation. This workshop also accelerated some national projects.
